Man and a scarecrow at an outdoor event on a sunny day, with tents and people in the background.

Hi! My name is Nima Naghavi. I am a 2nd year undergraduate student at the University of Houston who is majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Media Production.

I’ve always been an avid user of flashcards to study chemistry. During general chemistry, I made stacks of physical note cards for every practice problem, learning concept, and nuance. I made the switch to Anki for OChem, and saw great success. I thought to myself, “if these flashcards helped me so much, why wouldn’t they help other classmates too?”

I feel like flashcards get a bad rep for being dull or hard to engage with —especially when they’re made by someone else. The goal with my flashcards is to change that perspective, and show that you can make engaging questions that actually test understanding with just a little bit of creativity
